About Kelsey

Kelsey has been part of weddings since 2010 and planned her first event in 8th grade.

Born and raised in the California Bay Area, Kelsey grew up doing theatre and camp counseling. She received a degree in Recreation Administration which opened her eyes to the ins and outs of event planning. From there, she worked as a summer camp director for many years; planning weeks’ worth of programming and field trips for ages 5-18.

Her love for weddings launched from being her sister’s Maid of Honor at the age of 20. She realized then that if you come from a traditional or religious background, there is an easy go-to for how to compose a wedding. But for her eccentric and queer self, that would never do. She looked around at her queer community and realized we needed a space to create a wedding of our own creation that didn’t cost thousands of dollars or adhere to old traditions that no longer served their initial purpose. Since then, she has been in 5 wedding parties and coordinated 3 additional. She loves going wedding dress and suit shopping with betrothed people, create signs and décor, and build a ceremony that connects to couples’ intentions.

She hopes to one day open a line of products called “It’s a baby!” for gender-neutral baby showers.
